Flowers are always a good idea and so are rompers. From a casual coverup to a white hot lace number, rompers wear many hats in the fashion world. Versatility is one of the many reasons why they hold a special place in my heart.

I recently wore this romper to dinner at Fruition in Denver (highly recommend), and I couldn’t help but smile when strangers complimented my Goodwill find. What they didn’t know is that I paid less than ONE DOLLAR for this gem. ONE. DOLLAR. What can you get for less than $1?

So how did I work my sheer and score this Yumi Kim romper for less than $1 (original retail $229)?! I shop the sales. Yes, even Goodwill has sales. Sales and discounts depend on location, but almost all Goodwill locations offer discount days.  If you are in Nashville or the surrounding area, Goodwill of Middle Tennessee runs a sale on the first Saturday of every month where the ENTIRE store is HALF OFF! (It’s my favorite sale!) I make it a priority to attend every month. On top of the weekly discounts, Goodwill of Middle Tennessee has a Goodwill Rewards program where you accumulate 1 point for every $25 spent. Once you reach 10 points, you get $25 off your entire purchase!

On this particular Half-Off Saturday, I had a $25 reward to use. The original cost of the romper was $8. Since I was shopping on Half-Off Saturday, the romper was on sale for only $4. I then used my Goodwill Reward ($25 off) on my purchase total of $31 to pay a grand total of $6 for a full bag of clothing which also included a Marc by Marc Jacobs top.

Become familiar with your local Goodwill sales and discounts, and SHOP THE SALES, y’all! It’s busy but so worth it! Many stores also offer discounts for students, active military, and senior citizens. If you aren’t sure what sales or discounts your local Goodwill offers, check out their Instagram, Facebook, or ask a sales associate.
