Goodwill Fall Fashion with Sheena

Goodwill Fall Fashion with Sheena

Since starting Goldwill Digger, I’ve met sooooo many thrift store queens! A mutual friend and head of Creative Souls, Sarah, introduced us. Sharing the same hometown, strong relationships with our moms, and a love for Goodwill, we instantly clicked. Sheena has one of the biggest hearts of anyone I’ve ever met and celebrating her birthday month with #snsbdaygooddeed! She sends $5 to a friend/family member to complete a random act of kindness every day leading up to her birthday on October 21st! I am so excited to have Sheena on the blog today sharing her fall style tips!

My name is Sheena Steward, and I want to let you in on a little secret. I’m a serial thrifter! I’m extremely thrilled that Betsy was gracious enough to let me appear on the blog. I love fashion, because it gives me the opportunity to express myself. I’m quirky, and thrifting lets me explore various styles without breaking the bank. Of course, my go-to thrift store is Goodwill. Every time I walk into a Goodwill store, I hear Macklemore’s Thrift Shop in my head.,“I’m gonna pop some tags only got twenty dollars in my pocket. I – I – I’m hunting, looking for a come-up. This is freaking awesome!”

Blazer: Goodwill (Similar Splurge // Save); Crop Top: Similar Here; Culottes: Goodwill (Similar Splurge // Save); Shoes: Goodwill (Similar Splurge // Save)

As we all know, fall is everyone’s favorite clothing season. It’s the time of year where the weather is just right, and you’re allowed to layer and play with blazers, boots, and scarves (oh my!). One of my favorite things to do with fall fashion is to explore an androgynous look with fitted blazers, ties and loafers.

My first look I pair the softness of my lace crop top with the comfort of a nice pair of culottes and loafers. My oversized blazer adds a pop of color and flare to the outfit. This look is perfect for a fall day date to a pumpkin patch or a girls’ brunch at a hip restaurant. Fall can be a bit non-committal about the temperature, so the blazer adds an extra layer when the temperature drops and the winds picks up. This look let’s me express my love for vintage (hence the culottes), my love of fall and the ever so slight touch of whimsy in the lace crop top. The blazer, culottes, and loafers are all Goodwill finds!

Blazer: Goodwill (Similar Splurge // Save); Shorts: Similar; Booties: Goodwill (Similar Splurge // Save)

In the second look, I paired a fitted blazer with shorts and booties. The blazer is the “IT” piece of this look and doesn’t require much to make it pop. The solid  navy shorts partner well with the outspoken striped blazer. Blazer and booties are both Goodwill finds. This look is perfect for an evening out on the town with a cute little clutch. Now you’re ready to conquer the night!

I’ll leave you with a few of my tips for fall. First, don’t be afraid to layer. This adds character to your look and it’s easier to take off than add more pieces. A denim button down is a must have, layering under dresses, cardigans, blazers, or even worn alone. Scarves are an easy and versatile way to style your fall look. Don’t be afraid to wear them around your neck, in your hair, or even as a belt. Of course what’s fall fashion without a couple pair of good boots?

Can we just all take a moment to talk about how amazing her hair is?! …ok, now that that is out of the way, love both these looks. (the jeans may be a tad too wide legged for my taste but she pulls them off)
