I know we are only two weeks into January, and the thought of  spring is a faint blinking light in the never-ending tunnel we call winter. But the early bird gets the worm when it comes to shopping the trends at Goodwill. If you start searching the racks now, you will be ready to shed all the layers and sport the 2017 spring trends as soon as Punxsutawney Phil climbs out of his hole!

No shocker here. Stripes never go out of style which means there is a plethora of striped pieces at Goodwill. If you have exceeded your limit on striped tees in every color under the rainbow, look for a unique detail like a ruffled sleeve  or midi skirt.

80s GLAM

80s fashion left a scar on the fashion world that I thought would never heal. I guess that’s why the Spring ’17 runways opened up old wounds with the bold colors, patterns, and statement sleeves of the 80s, no Aquanet needed. Look for bold, statement prints like this leopard coat and statement sleeves like this embellished one shoulder bodysuit.

Athleisure has been fashion’s darling for several seasons now, and it’s one of my favorites. The trend is here to stay, but look for more pieces athleisure-inspired, like the Theory pants I’m wearing,  not the same outfit you wore to yoga yesterday. At Goodwill, look for embellished and pattern sweatshirts like this Lou & Grey find for $3. If you haven’t invested in a pair of “It Girl” sneakers yet, now is the time. I’m currently lusting over these gold New Balances!

You’ve probably seen your favorite fashion blogger don these Gucci mules, but you don’t have to spend a fortune on this trend. I’ve found two pairs of heeled mules at Goodwill in the last 3 or 4 months. Keep your eyes peeled on your next Goodwill trip for these trendy shoes.

In a nod to the Victorian era, ruffles are all the rage for the spring. Look for ruffles on tops, hems, and even sleeves. The key here is to try on and make sure the ruffle flatters your figure, especially if the ruffle is on the bottom half.

All of the trends can be found at Goodwill with a little searching and patience.
